S4 Productions has merged with UK-based company The MJR Group and will now trade in Australia as MJR Presents. This major investment and rebrand will help to build stronger links between both companies and the UK and Australian music promotion scene.

S4 Productions has had an incredibly successful 12 months since it was established in May 2014. It launched pop-up festival Drop In, announced a 10-date UB40 tour and worked with acts such as From The JamMichael FrantiAngus & Julia Stone and promoters including Bluesfest Touring and Live Natiaon.

Scott Mesiti, MJR Presents Director, says: S4 Productions was set up predominantly to bring international touring acts into Australia. However, after operating for a year, we’ve found that business is equally as busy promoting shows across Australia for home-grown talent, such as The Cat EmpireXavier Rudd and more. What’s really exciting about this merger is we also now have a stronger network to support and promote Australian acts in the UK.’

In the UK, The MJR Group own and operate six venues and promote more than 1,000 shows a year with acts including Ed SheeranJake BuggPublic Enemy and many more. The MJR Group also has four festivals – GhostfestMutinySka and Mod Fest and Bristol Folk Fest.
The MJR Group has already worked with many well-known Australian acts, promoting UK-shows for artists such as DZ Deathrays and Kim Churchill and also has forthcoming shows lined up with The Amity Affliction.

Richard Buck, MJR Group Director, says: ‘Australia has been producing a fantastic stock of quality acts for a while now so this is the perfect time for for The MJR Group to invest in the Australian music scene. We are really proud to be the first UK music promoters to have a vested interest in an artist’s success both in Australia and the UK.’

The MJR Group will now operate out of Sydney and Port Macquarie in Australia and London and Bristol in the UK.
