British Rock Must Be Destroyed

MJR By Arrangement with X-Ray and NMC Live Present

BRITROCK MUST BE DESTROYED

REEF, TERRORVISION, THE WILDHEARTS HEAD DOWNUNDER FOR THE INAUGURAL ‘BRITROCK MUST BE DESTROYED’ TOUR

90s Britrock icons Reef, The Wildhearts and Terrorvision are joining forces for an attack on Australia this August/September for the first ‘Britrock Must Be Destroyed’ tour.

Best known for their Hottest 100 banger ‘Place Your Hands’, Reef were never far from rock radio playlists, spending the decade supporting artists like Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and Soundgarden while making a trip to Australia as part of the seminal 1996 lineup of the Big Day Out.

Terrorvision are one of the genre’s trailblazers, with ‘Oblivion’, ‘Perseverance’ and ‘Tequila’ all hitting the upper reaches of the UK charts. The Wildhearts, known for their smashing live shows were riding high throughout the 90s and 2000s with two top 20 UK albums and their rock anthem ‘I Wanna Go Where the People Go’.

Combined, the three bands bring a collision of anthemic British rock waging war on boredom mediocrity and probably each other.

As Tony Wright of Terrorvision states; “It’s going to be great to find out what was going on in the 90s and what it sounded like. I’ve seen the pics and so I know we were there – but to experience it first-hand will be ace!”

Reef’s Gary Stringer enthuses; “Really amped to be hitting the road this August and joining up with the guys from Terrorvision and The Wildhearts, it’s gonna be a blast! See you there, happy days.”

While Ginger of The Wildhearts throws down the challenge; “We are honoured to be a part of this legendary tour. Mainly because it means that we’re still alive, but also because it gives us a chance to prove that we were always the best band of this whole

James

MJR in Association with Solo and Vector Presents

After selling out their first ever trip to Australia in 2016, James are preparing for a triumphant return in 2018 with their ‘Living in Extraordinary Times Tour’. This time the band are sporting a brand-new album ‘Living in Extraordinary Times” as well as all their swag of British classics.

James’ 1993 hit ‘Laid’ became the soundtrack to early 90s alternative radio before finding a second life through its use in teen hit American Pie films. James had already had a decade of hits by the time Laid arrived, having risen from Manchester’s legendary Factory Records scene into one of the biggest UK bands in the world by the dawn of the 90s. With alternative hits in Australia including Laid, Sit Down, Sound, Getting Away With It (All Messed Up), She’s a Star and Just Like Fred Astaire, and selling over 25 million records worldwide, the band were triple j staples for over fifteen years, yet took nearly three decades to hit Australian shores.

2016 saw the release of Girl at the End of the World, their most commercially and critically successful album for nearly twenty years, which came close to knocking Adele’s 25 off the prized number 1 spot of the UK album chart.

With sell out shows, great reviews and mad fans, some travelling across Australia to ensure they didn’t miss a single show, a return visit was inevitable.

‘Looking forward to playing to the boys and the girls at the end of the world again (from our corner of the world). if you enjoyed our last trip, evangelize this one to your friends, and we can make this a regular liaison,’ said Tim Booth.

“The vibe in every room was just electric and every night was different to the last. We can’t wait to get back there and do it all again, this time with our ‘Living in Extraordinary Times’ record.” said Jim Glennie.

The album seems to touch upon contemporary fissures in society, with Tim Booth commenting: “We knew something was up when Leicester city won the league then Brexit, then Trump. It is as if we’d slipped into an alternate reality, a Philip K Dick reality. We are living in extraordinary times.”

The tour will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth as well as taking James to Adelaide for the very first time.

“Sometimes rounds off James’s first ever Australian gig and there wouldn’t be many in the audience who didn’t feel privileged to be there.” – The Sydney Morning Herald

“As the band left the stage for the final time, they promised not to wait 35 years next time. Let’s hope they hold true to their word.” – Scenestr

“Australia has really been missing out. It’s taken 34 years for Manchester alt-rockers James to visit Australia, but they made it worth the wait.” – The West Australian

It allows me to do something completely different celebrating songwriters I love such as Harry Nilsson, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber … the list goes on… as well as many of my hits such as ‘I Know Him So Well’, ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ and of course my signature ‘Memory’.  This music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just mine.  And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way.”

Elaine has performed live in concert all over the world and as a recording artist has worked with legendary producers such as Tony ViscontiDennis Lambert, Peter Matz, & Phil Ramone amongst others and has released 22 solo albums (4 multi-Platinum and 9 Gold,) been featured on 7 cast recordings and has had major worldwide hits with songs such as Memory (Cats) and I Know Him So Well (Chess.)

ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK

ON SALE NOW!

Engelbert Humperdinck – the legendary live entertainer – has announced his eagerly anticipated return down under, with ‘The Man I Want To Be Tour,’ set to land in theatres around Australia and New Zealand in March 2019.

Returning for the first time since his sold out run in 2015, Engelbert will be performing in iconic theatres around the country, from Sydney’s State Theatre to Melbourne’s Palais, showcasing music from his latest record “50”, as well seminal hits like “Quando Quando Quando”, “Release Me”, “A Man Without Love”, “The Last Waltz” and “Am I That Easy To Forget”.

Despite growing up extraordinarily shy and the youngest of ten children, Engelbert Humperdinck skyrocketed to fame in 1967, after his single ‘Release Me’ famously blocked The Beatles from a scoring the number one chart position with their new track ‘Penny Lane’. Following on from 50 weeks in the UK charts, the Leicester based entertainer continued his meteoric rise to fame, becoming a sex symbol to women across the globe and delivering one of the most iconic voices of his generation.

With a career spanning almost 50 years, Engelbert amassed 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum records, four Grammy nominations, a Gold Globe and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has performed for the Queen four times, for several presidents, alongside music legends like Ray Charles, Tom Jones and Dean Martin and remains one of few musicians alive today, able to have called Elvis a close friend.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to spend an intimate night with Engelbert.
