ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK

ON SALE NOW!

Engelbert Humperdinck – the legendary live entertainer – has announced his eagerly anticipated return down under, with ‘The Man I Want To Be Tour,’ set to land in theatres around Australia and New Zealand in March 2019.

Returning for the first time since his sold out run in 2015, Engelbert will be performing in iconic theatres around the country, from Sydney’s State Theatre to Melbourne’s Palais, showcasing music from his latest record “50”, as well seminal hits like “Quando Quando Quando”, “Release Me”, “A Man Without Love”, “The Last Waltz” and “Am I That Easy To Forget”.

Despite growing up extraordinarily shy and the youngest of ten children, Engelbert Humperdinck skyrocketed to fame in 1967, after his single ‘Release Me’ famously blocked The Beatles from a scoring the number one chart position with their new track ‘Penny Lane’. Following on from 50 weeks in the UK charts, the Leicester based entertainer continued his meteoric rise to fame, becoming a sex symbol to women across the globe and delivering one of the most iconic voices of his generation.

With a career spanning almost 50 years, Engelbert amassed 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum records, four Grammy nominations, a Gold Globe and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has performed for the Queen four times, for several presidents, alongside music legends like Ray Charles, Tom Jones and Dean Martin and remains one of few musicians alive today, able to have called Elvis a close friend.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to spend an intimate night with Engelbert.

Steel Panther

STEEL PANTHER GET BACK TO THEIR SUNSTRIP SET ROOTS, INCLUDE SET OF CLASSIC METAL COVERS

The Sunset Strip’s favourite sons, Steel Panther, are returning to Australia in May 2018 for a WORLD FIRST run of shows! They are returning to Australian shores with their Sunset Strip Live! Tour, which is ALL PANTHER, ALL NIGHT. Two sets – One set of Steel Panther originals, and One set of Classic Covers! Presented by MJR Presents by Arrangement with United Talent Agency, this is Steel Panther‘s third trip out to Australia since 2016 – and it seems like Australia can’t get enough of the raunchy Panther boys from LA!

The Steel Panther boys are coming to Australia to show off how it all started for them – playing venues like The Viper Room in Los Angeles, playing all the best hair metal songs of all time, eventually becoming the Steel Panther everyone loves (well maybe not your Grandma. It kind of depends on what Old Folks’ Home she’s in!).

The tour takes the boys to Melbourne’s The Forum on 16th May, Sydney’s Big Top on the 18th, Brisbane’s Eatons Hill on the 20th and finishing in Perth on the 22nd May at the Astor Theatre. Tickets go on sale Wednesday February 28 at 10:00am Local Time at mjrpresents.com.

Steel Panther have been prolific in their output in the past few years, releasing album “All You Can Eat” in 2014, Live DVD “Live from Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage” in 2016 and album “Lower the Bar” in 2017. Their catalogue of hits is unstoppable, featuring hits like “Death to All But Metal”, “Community Property”, “17 Girls in a Row” and “Poontang Boomerang.”

Last time they visited Australian shores, Blunt Mag’s writer Luke Sutton said that..

.”…if the decade of neon was anything like Steel Panther make it out to be, then it was one hell of a time. [Steel Panther] have made a pretty solid name for themselves Down Under: their trips are all but annual at this point, with every passing crowd growing vaster, louder, and itchier.”

Don’t miss the raucous, irreverent, all-out hair metal assault on your senses (and probably your genitals) that is Steel Panther’s “Sunset Strip Live” tour this May in Australia!

Jeremy Loops

South Africa’s biggest contemporary music export Jeremy Loops announces his return to Australia and New Zealand today following on from his successful visit in 2016.

Becoming a hit outside of his homeland, Jeremy’s debut album Trading Change resulted in a 30,000-ticket tour across the UK and Europe as well as a massive European tour with Twenty One Pilots.  His near-sellout tour of Australia in 2016 cemented his popularity downunder, while his latest single ‘Waves’ from his upcoming album ‘Critical As Water’ (March 16) has already racked up over a million streams on Spotify in just a few weeks.

“The first time we toured Australia we had no idea what to expect but five minutes into the first show we knew Aussie live music fans are maniacs like we are. The energy in that room was insane, and we’ve been looking forward to coming back ever since,” says Jeremy Loops.

“Getting to do Australia and New Zealand as part of this Critical As Water world tour shows just how important performing in this region is to us. And we know the love we give, Aussie and Kiwi crowds give will right back.”

The Australian and New Zealand shows are part of a massive global tour with 27 shows across ten countries, kicking off in March to celebrate the album’s release and winding its way through Europe, the UK, the US, Canada and finally Australia and New Zealand in May.

Loops’ cult-like following will continue to grow, with the new record Produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’, Lilly Allen, Bastille), with additional production contributions by Jake Gosling (James Bay, The Libertines, Shawn Mendes). ‘Waves’ has already featured in Spotify’s international viral chart.

When he’s not touring the world, Jeremy Loops is also the founder of South Africa’s Greenpop, a tree planting organisation that’s been responsible for 85,000 new trees across his homeland. He is one of the biggest artists in the country with his debut record entering the South African charts at #1 and winning MTV South Africa’s Alternative Album of the Year and iTunes South Africa’s Album of the Year.

Shed Seven

Britpop legends Shed Seven have finally given into fan pressure and announced their first ever Australian tour, following the release of their brand new record ‘Instant Pleasures’.

The iconic 90s rockers, responsible for contributing heavily to the britpop revolution, alongside bands like Oasis, Blur and Ocean Colour Scene, will make their first trip down under in April next year, with shows confirmed for Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Playing live in Australia has been right at the top of our bucket list for yearsSaid the band. It eluded us in the 90’s so we are ridiculously excited to finally be coming over to play these shows. We get so many great messages from fans in Australia and can’t wait to finally bring our show over for you….. Bring your best singing voices!

Having stamped their names into the book of Britpop by the mid-nineties, the York five-piece, whose hits include the alt-rock favourites Chasing Rainbows and Going For Gold, amassed a myriad of chart milestones, with fifteen Top 40 singles, four Top 20 albums and a wash of sell out tours around Europe as America. Despite breaking up in 2003, the band returned to the stage in 2007 for a reunion tour, following a call from fans.

In 2017 the band announced the release of ‘Instant Pleasures’, their first full length LP together in over 16 years. Instant Pleasures (out on November 10th) is the most fitting title for this, their fifth album and their first since 2001’s Truth Be Told. Frontman Rick Witter remarks that it works in two ways. Not only is it a comment on our tech-obsessed, social media crazy, instantaneous world, it’s also a literal tongue-in-cheek reference to the tracks themselves.

Sleeping With Sirens

Orlando, Florida alternative rock/metalcore outfit Sleeping With Sirens are returning to Australian soil in 2018 for their Gossip World Tour! Last here in 2015 on a string of sold-out shows, Sleeping With Sirens will be here in April next year to celebrate the release of their latest album, Gossip, which saw its release recently on September 22. Joining Sleeping With Sirens on this epic tour, presented by MJR Presents by arrangement with UTA will be Chase AtlanticLower Than Atlantis and The Faim.

Tickets will go on pre-sale on Wednesday 6th December and General Sale Friday 8th December at mjrpresents.com!

The outfit, known for their vocalist, Kellin Quinn’s impossibly high vocal range, are dropping in down under and making stops in Sydney at the Big Top Saturday April 21, Melbourne Sunday April 22 at Festival Hall, Tuesday 24th April at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, Wednesday 25th April at Metro City in Perth, Friday 27th April at Eatons Hill Hotel, Brisbane and will jump over the ditch to New Zealand to play Auckland on Sunday April 29 at Logan Campbell Centre.

Through taking quantum sonic leaps with this new album Gossip, the quintet—Kellin Quinn [vocals, keyboards], Jack Fowler [lead guitar], Nick Martin [rhythm guitar], Justin Hills [bass], and Gabe Barham [drums]—reach the artistic heights they began angling for nearly 10 years ago, while amplifying musical hallmarks such as soaring and soul-striking vocals, wildly catchy riffing, and intricate beats.

At its heart, the record reflects not only creative progression, but personal as well. “The story of Gossip really begins in me transitioning from a boy to a man,” admits Kellin. “I grew up basically my entire life playing music in this group. This record is me figuring out who I’m supposed to be as a musician, a husband, and a father. It’s a hard, scary, rewarding, and daring process that gets chronicled in the lyrics. Musically, I feel like it’s the first Sirens record that sounds specifically like us. We took chances, experimented, and continued to do what we do best: create art. It’s something new. It has an authentic sound that we’ve been working towards all this time.”

Ultimately, the risks yield Sleeping With Sirens’ boldest, brightest, and best work to date. “No matter what anyone says, I  want to encourage listeners to take risks of their own,” Kellin leaves off. “Our band took a chance. We’re going to back it. That’s all you can do as an artist. This is my diary. It’s who I am.”

Belle And Sebastian

Scottish Indie royalty Belle & Sebastian return to Australia in May next year for the first time since their massively successful tour in 2015. With their latest single ‘I’ll Be Your Pilot’ signalling a fresh new wave of activity for the band, the Australian shows wrap up a global tour, with performances confirmed for The Sydney Opera House, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Perth’s Astor Theatre and The Tivoli in Brisbane.

To commemorate 20 years since the bands previous multi-EP release – 1997’s ‘Dog On Wheels’, ‘Lazy Line Painter Jane’ and ‘3.. 6.. 9 Seconds Of Light’ – the twee-pop superstars have also announced the release of three more EPs in quick succession this December. All titled ‘How To Solve Our Human Problems’, the first EP will be released on December 8, the second on January 19, and the final instalment landing on February 16, just ahead of their tour down under.

In addition to re-embracing short-form releases, the project finds the group exploring an off-the-cuff, anything-goes ethos, experimenting with sounds, formats and themes.

We are delighted to be coming back to Australia in 2018, with some new songs to play for you.” Said frontman Stuart Murdoch ahead of the upcoming shows down-under.

Belle & Sebastian formed in 1996. They have released nine studio album,  received critical acclaim from outlets including Pitchfork, SPIN, Rolling Stone, NPR, NME and The New York Times and have produced a back catalogue of both critical and cult-status hits that have helped the band sell out venues for over two decades.

The band arrive in Perth on May 2 before heading east for shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Chronixx

Jamaican musician Chronixx is one of reggae’s leading lights, bringing together the traditions of dub, dancehall, ragga, soul and hip hop into his own fusion which has put reggae back on the main stage.

Discovered in 2014 by Jimmy Fallon during a chance meeting during a Jamaican holiday, Chronixx quickly turned heads around the world after performing on his show, with his first EP topping reggae charts in the US, UK and Japan.  With supports for the likes of The Stone Roses, Nas and Lauryn Hill, Chronixx has proven his cross-genre appeal, with his debut album earlier this year ‘Chronology’ hitting the iTunes top 20 in several countries.

The February tour will awaken reggae fans across the country as Chronixx and his band Zincfence Redemption hit stages in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Chronixx said: “I’m so excited to be back performing live in Australia for my fans, where I’ll be performing new tracks from the Chronology record as well as the classics. See you soon!”

Squeeze

South London new-wave legends Squeeze are headed for Australia in 2018 for a run of not-to-be-missed shows. With hits like ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Tempted’ and ‘Up The Junction’, Squeeze will bring the soundtrack of the 70s and 80s into full focus with special guest punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke.

Squeeze first formed in 1973, brought together by an ad in a sweetshop window. By 1977 they had made their recording debut and enjoyed a string of hits which lasted until 1982, the maturity of their songs outliving their initial burst of chart activity on the back of New Wave.

Over the years there have been solo careers and occasional separations, but the Ivor Novello Award-winning act have been a consistent fixture of the UK and US music scenes over four decades, with recent activity including the critically acclaimed album soundtrack to the BBC sitcom ‘Cradle to Grave’ in 2015 and a triumphant return to Glastonbury in 2016.

Their first trip downunder since re-forming a decade ago, Squeeze have never been more vibrant, relevant and on point as they couple their pop sensibilities with poignant lyrics and a live show that’s not to be missed.

The line-up will feature founding member Glenn Tilbrook, long-standing touring members Stephen Large & Simon Hanson, and the new addition of bassist Yolanda Charles and Steve Smith on percussion.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

After visiting Australia for a series of sold out shows in 2013, LA three-piece Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have announced that they’ll once again return for a run of shows to showcase their much anticipated new album, expected in early 2018.

Presented by MJR Presents, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth where they’ll be performing a selection of new material as well as crowd favourites from the bands illustrious 19-year, seven album back catalogue, showing why they are one of the world’s most celebrated live bands.

‘Every time we’ve toured Australia something in some way has tried to kill me at one point or another, and always in new and somewhat inspired ways. So I have a great deal of respect for whatever cosmic forces are going on down there. It definitely keeps me on my toes though, which is all you really need to make rock’n’roll I guess.  Two good toes and a reason to keep tappin them.’

-Robert Levon Been / BRMC

Since their debut release in 2001, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have made a name for themselves on a global scale. By fusing together elements of the psych, space rock, noise-pop and classic rock and roll that weave themselves across five acclaimed studio albums, BRMC live shows have often been hailed as events rather than mere gigs; a dynamic showcase of dark, brooding rock mixed with an energetic show you can’t take your eyes off.
