After selling out their first ever trip to Australia in 2016, James are preparing for a triumphant return in 2018 with their ‘Living in Extraordinary Times Tour’. This time the band are sporting a brand-new album ‘Living in Extraordinary Times” as well as all their swag of British classics.

James’ 1993 hit ‘Laid’ became the soundtrack to early 90s alternative radio before finding a second life through its use in teen hit American Pie films. James had already had a decade of hits by the time Laid arrived, having risen from Manchester’s legendary Factory Records scene into one of the biggest UK bands in the world by the dawn of the 90s. With alternative hits in Australia including Laid, Sit Down, Sound, Getting Away With It (All Messed Up), She’s a Star and Just Like Fred Astaire, and selling over 25 million records worldwide, the band were triple j staples for over fifteen years, yet took nearly three decades to hit Australian shores.

2016 saw the release of Girl at the End of the World, their most commercially and critically successful album for nearly twenty years, which came close to knocking Adele’s 25 off the prized number 1 spot of the UK album chart.

With sell out shows, great reviews and mad fans, some travelling across Australia to ensure they didn’t miss a single show, a return visit was inevitable.

The album seems to touch upon contemporary fissures in society, with Tim Booth commenting: “We knew something was up when Leicester city won the league then Brexit, then Trump. It is as if we’d slipped into an alternate reality, a Philip K Dick reality. We are living in extraordinary times.”

The tour will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth as well as taking James to Adelaide for the very first time.

Britain’s first lady of musical theatre Elaine Paige has announced an 8-date series of concerts downunder this October, which will see her perform songs from her illustrious career alongside an array of her favourite tracks by contemporary songwriters.

This follows on from the huge success of Elaine’s last series of concerts in the UK in 2016 and 2017, which had audiences and critics alike rising to their feet in praise.

Steel Panther

STEEL PANTHER GET BACK TO THEIR SUNSTRIP SET ROOTS, INCLUDE SET OF CLASSIC METAL COVERS

The Sunset Strip’s favourite sons, Steel Panther, are returning to Australia in May 2018 for a WORLD FIRST run of shows! They are returning to Australian shores with their Sunset Strip Live! Tour, which is ALL PANTHER, ALL NIGHT. Two sets – One set of Steel Panther originals, and One set of Classic Covers! Presented by MJR Presents by Arrangement with United Talent Agency, this is Steel Panther‘s third trip out to Australia since 2016 – and it seems like Australia can’t get enough of the raunchy Panther boys from LA!

The Steel Panther boys are coming to Australia to show off how it all started for them – playing venues like The Viper Room in Los Angeles, playing all the best hair metal songs of all time, eventually becoming the Steel Panther everyone loves (well maybe not your Grandma. It kind of depends on what Old Folks’ Home she’s in!).

The tour takes the boys to Melbourne’s The Forum on 16th May, Sydney’s Big Top on the 18th, Brisbane’s Eatons Hill on the 20th and finishing in Perth on the 22nd May at the Astor Theatre. Tickets go on sale Wednesday February 28 at 10:00am Local Time at mjrpresents.com.

Steel Panther have been prolific in their output in the past few years, releasing album “All You Can Eat” in 2014, Live DVD “Live from Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage” in 2016 and album “Lower the Bar” in 2017. Jeremy Loops

South Africa’s biggest contemporary music export Jeremy Loops announces his return to Australia and New Zealand today following on from his successful visit in 2016.

Becoming a hit outside of his homeland, Jeremy’s debut album Trading Change resulted in a 30,000-ticket tour across the UK and Europe as well as a massive European tour with Twenty One Pilots.  His near-sellout tour of Australia in 2016 cemented his popularity downunder, while his latest single ‘Waves’ from his upcoming album ‘Critical As Water’ (March 16) has already racked up over a million streams on Spotify in just a few weeks.

“The first time we toured Australia we had no idea what to expect but five minutes into the first show we knew Aussie live music fans are maniacs like we are. The energy in that room was insane, and we’ve been looking forward to coming back ever since,” says Jeremy Loops.

“Getting to do Australia and New Zealand as part of this Critical As Water world tour shows just how important performing in this region is to us. And we know the love we give, Aussie and Kiwi crowds give will right back.”

The Australian and New Zealand shows are part of a massive global tour with 27 shows across ten countries, kicking off in March to celebrate the album’s release and winding its way through Europe, the UK, the US, Canada and finally Australia and New Zealand in May.

The much-anticipated outdoor SummerSalt concert is heading to Port Macquarie for the first time. The event will be sailing in to the picturesque Westport Park, Port Macquarie, New South Wales on Sunday 8 April 2018.

With sun, salt air, and sweet music to wash over the Australian coast, SummerSalt will create the perfect setting to dance the afternoon away with your friends or chill on the grass. New South Wales audiences will be able to soak up some classic seaside charm under the spell of John Butler Trio, San Cisco, Mama Kin Spender, Oh Pep! plus local act Barrel House.

SummerSalt is a newly launched concert event series that will deliver cream of the crop artists to the great Australian outdoors. SummerSalt takes place in some of the most stunning locations around the country. On top of showcasing the best of home-grown and international bands, it also brings cultural attractions, placing a very heavy emphasis on local community and sustainability. This is a first of its kind. The inaugural SummerSalt series of concerts launched with some of Australia’s best loved bands and artists.

John Butler remains one of the most successful independent artists in Australia’s history. His band, the John Butler Trio, have sold out a myriad of performances over the years in Australia and have gone on to take their music worldwide. John Butler has an impressive one million album sales to his name, has been the No. 1 most played artist on Australian radio and has numerous ARIA awards to write home about. Having played on countless festivals across the globe, John Butler Trio are in constant demand, after developing an earnest reputation as one of the best live blues and roots acts to this day. Their recent ARIA award winning album, Flesh & Blood, was released globally in February 2014. This then took them to sold out shows in Australia, Europe & North America, then remarkably saw them play their largest ever headline ticketed show at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado) in front of nearly 10,000 people. John Butler Trio continues to capture their fans and take them on an organic journey.

San Cisco’s storm came in much like a front approaching the port in their home town of Fremantle; swift and eerily beautiful.

Initially whipped up in the wake of high school graduation, the foursome of Jordi, Josh, Scarlett, and Nick soon found themselves unwittingly defining hipster culture with the video for their breakout hit Awkward.

Fast forward to 2015 where San Cisco enlisted the help of producer and long-term collaborator Steven Schram to deliver their sophomore album Gracetown which debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts. The album showcased a new sound for the band, a more worldly approach to life; exploring the tyranny of love, displacement, homesickness, heartache and heartbreak, via disco, funk, soul and hip hop undertones.

In 2017 San Cisco has unleashed their third album The Water with standout singalong songs Hey, Did I Do You Wrong and The Distance and continues to tour the world with sell out shows from Sydney to LA to Mexico City to London and Amsterdam.

ARIA-nominated Mama Kin and producer Tommy Spender have combined their collective talents into a joyous sound of brooding guitars, primal drums and howling harmonies. Together, Mama Kin Spender have become the soulful music alliance and artistic collaboration between this blissful duo. Their debut single, Air Between Us, was released mid this year and gave music lovers a glorious insight to what we can expect from their forthcoming debut full-length album, Golden Magnets – due for release in March 2018. From dark to light, inward to outward, Mama Kin Spender is a bewitching collision of alchemy, harmony and percussive wizardry.

Oh Pep! are musical explorers who travel in the form of a band; a collaboration between songwriters Olivia Hally (guitar, vocals) & Pepita Emmerichs (fiddle, mandolin). Drawing upon their escapades, they take you on a carefully arranged pop/folk adventure for your ears. After launching into the Australian music scene with their first EP, the duo spent a week by the beach recording with ARIA-Award Winner and CMAA Producer of the Year, Shane Nicholson and have since launched their second EP, II, with a national and international tour. Oh Pep! are currently preparing to record their debut album and tour North America.

The concert event will include a dedicated SummerSalt Lounge area (for lounge tickets holders only) for those who wish to enjoy the show at their own pace and leisure. There will also be access for concert goers to market stalls, mobile food options and activities to bring culture and community together.

MARIAH CAREY RESCHEDULES AUSTRALIAN TOUR

MJR Presents announced today that Mariah Carey’s February 2018 Australian and New Zealand tour has been rescheduled to October due to a necessary realignment of her international engagements for 2018.

The rescheduled tour will see Mariah deliver all her greatest hits which include Dreamlover, Emotions, Hero, Without You, Fantasy, One Sweet Day, We Belong Together, Always Be My Baby and many more, following on from her successful 2017 Las Vegas residency. Cementing her place as one of the world’s all-time iconic vocalists, Carey has sold over 200 million albums worldwide and spawned a career across music, film, television, fashion, beauty and much more.

Unfortunately, venue changes have been necessary for the Sydney and Melbourne shows with new tickets issued to patrons in the coming weeks. Tickets to the Brisbane show will remain valid for the rescheduled date and patrons will be contacted by the ticketing company with instructions. Those who cannot attend the new dates will be offered refunds. Unfortunately a Perth show has been unable to be accommodated on the new dates and patrons will be refunded.

For those who have not yet purchased, tickets for the rescheduled shows will go on sale 2pm local time on Thursday February 1. More information for current ticket holders and new purchasers is available from www.mjrpresents.com.

What happens now? – . You won’t need a new ticket; your existing ticket will be valid for entry. Tickets purchased after today will have the new dates on them.

How much are tickets, are there now more seats available? – The good news is, yes, one of the advantages of moving into these venues is we are able to offer a wider range of tickets with more seats in each ticketing tier. If you have existing tickets you will get first chance to upgrade these to the next tier if you want! (you will have to pay the difference in ticket plus a small booking fee)

There are multiple ticket options which vary from venue to venue. Please see below for details:

Shed Seven

Britpop legends Shed Seven have finally given into fan pressure and announced their first ever Australian tour, following the release of their brand new record ‘Instant Pleasures’.

The iconic 90s rockers, responsible for contributing heavily to the britpop revolution, alongside bands like Oasis, Blur and Ocean Colour Scene, will make their first trip down under in April next year, with shows confirmed for Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

“Playing live in Australia has been right at the top of our bucket list for years” Said the band. It eluded us in the 90’s so we are ridiculously excited to finally be coming over to play these shows. We get so many great messages from fans in Australia and can’t wait to finally bring our show over for you….. Bring your best singing voices! ”

Having stamped their names into the book of Britpop by the mid-nineties, the York five-piece, whose hits include the alt-rock favourites Chasing Rainbows and Going For Gold, amassed a myriad of chart milestones, with fifteen Top 40 singles, four Top 20 albums and a wash of sell out tours around Europe as America. Despite breaking up in 2003, the band returned to the stage in 2007 for a reunion tour, following a call from fans.

In 2017 the band announced the release of ‘Instant Pleasures’, their first full length LP together in over 16 years. Instant Pleasures (out on November 10th) is the most fitting title for this, their fifth album and their first since 2001’s Truth Be Told. Frontman Rick Witter remarks that it works in two ways. Not only is it a comment on our tech-obsessed, social media crazy, instantaneous world, it’s also a literal tongue-in-cheek reference to the tracks themselves.
